About the Conference

The 3EC: Buzzwords Conference is presented by the Experiential Education Exchange, a diverse group of educators who support excellent practice in experiential education and catalyze growth and innovation.

Conference Topics

The 3EC: Buzzwords Conference is an opportunity for educators to come together to improve our practice, share ideas, collaborate on projects, and make our region a better place to live and learn. The field of education is bombarded with “the newest trend” each school year. The Buzzwords Conference will give educators the opportunity to define and explore three Buzzwords: Grit, Mindset, and Project-based Learning. Participate with fellow educators and learn strategies to give meaning to how you use these Buzzwords. Participants will learn how to best promote and propel excellence in experiential education in our region through common areas of interest::

  • K-12 Schools: Classroom Connections

New City, an independent school of 340 students, age three through grade six, has implemented the theory of multiple intelligences since 1988. Hoerr worked as a teacher and principal in public schools, has been an adjunct teacher at three universities, and founded and directed the Non-Profit Management Program at Washington University in St. Louis. Michael Dittrich

Michael Dittrich has been in administration for 14 years, serving as a principal for the last three at Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle School - School as Expedition. In this capacity, MRHMS has increased their Annual Progress Report from the State of Missouri over 20 points to 97.1%, and he has worked with his staff on their school sustainability efforts around energy, backyard chickens, aquaponics, bees, gardens, and composting.
